Sirius Business Services Ltd provides a range of business support services to enable you to concentrate on your core activities, whilst letting us support your business by utilising our expertise and experience. We provide a wide range of training courses in First Aid, Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Postal Bombs and Telephone Bomb Threats. We can undertake Risk Assessments, Fire Risk Assessments and produce Fire Safety, Security, PR & Media and Health and Safety policies and procedures on your behalf.

We specialise in training and consultancy for Medical and Dental Practices.

Sirius Business Services Ltd employs a team of high quality trainers, technical, administrative and support staff, who work out of its headquarters based in Weymouth, Dorset, and can provide services throughout the UK, Europe and the USA.

Gary Hepburn - Managing Director

Gary Hepburn

Gary set up Sirius Business Services Ltd (Sirius) at the end of 2000. Sirius has provided a full range of First Aid, Medical, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding and Fire Safety training and consultancy ever since.

His early career was with the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) where he had his first management experience in IT and Quality Assurance then moving into security and health and safety. In 1995, he joined US company, Johnson Controls Inc. and worked his way up to the senior management position of UK Head of Security and Principal Safety Advisor, responsible for advising the board, all UK staff and the company’s wide range of clients. Gary has also held non-executive director positions on the Dorset Police Authority, Dorset Community Health Service and with NHS Dorset, Bournemouth & Poole where he was the lead on Urgent & Emergency Care, Community Health Services and Mental Health.

Gary is a member of many professional bodies such as Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, International Institute of Risk and Safety Managers, Institute for Learning, Royal College of Nursing, Association of Healthcare Trainers, the Council for Professionals as Resuscitation Officers and the Institution of Fire Engineers.

Throughout his career Gary has worked with and advised many major and international companies in the healthcare, petrochemical, financial services, pharmaceutical, media, research, IT, engineering industries, facilities management and Government organisations as well as working with smaller commercial, charitable and voluntary organisations.

Gary’s has been an active first aider/medic since he first qualified as a Dive Medic over 30 years ago and has many years hands on experience in event medical services, medical repatriation and as a first responder for the NHS. He has also qualified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), medical gasses, anaphylaxis, penthrox, first aid, fire safety, safeguarding and health and safety Instructor/assessor. These days Gary spends most of his time maintaining client relationships, developing training solutions, writing documentation, providing advice and consultancy, speaking at conferences and seminars and managing the day to day aspects of running a training and consultancy business.

In Gary’s spare time he is Chairman of the Sir Samuel Mico Charities, Sir Henry Edwards Charities, Life Education Wessex and Thames Valley, Weymouth South Scout Group and Wyke Regis Primary Federation. Gary is also a national board member of Coram Life Education, is Deputy District Commissioner of Scouts for Weymouth and Portland and is churchwarden at his local church, All Saints Wyke Regis. He maintains a very keen interest in resuscitation, pre hospital emergency medicine, health education/prevention, child protection, special educational needs, safeguarding and mental health.

Keith Welsh - Director

Keith has been working with Sirius Business Services since 2006 and has many years practical experience in both the emergency medicine and fire fighting fields. Keith is an Emergency Medical Technician and besides undertaking work with a private ambulance company responds for South West Ambulance Service as a Community Responder, being called out to 999 medical emergencies in his local area.

Keith trained as a retained fire fighter with Dorset Fire and Rescue Service and following the fire strikes in 2001, Keith co-founded the Kimmeridge Emergency Response Volunteers. They provide a first strike fire and emergency medical response around the village of Kimmeridge in Dorset. Keith qualified as a first aid instructor and assessor in 2006 and is a Graduate member of the Institution of Fire Engineers. Keith is also a corporate member of the Chartered Management Institute and a Healthcare Practitioner member of the Royal College of Nursing.

Ernest Hopkins – Non Executive Director

Ernest undertakes a non executive role for Sirius which he helped Gary form in late 2000. Ernest spent most of his career in the Metropolitan Police followed by 10 years as a Security Manager at a national TV company and then as proprietor of his own security consultancy business advising many major UK and international organisations.
