Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)

Abbreviated Title: FAW

Overview:

This is the more advanced level of workplace first aid qualification that will give the learner the knowledge and practical competence to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations.

Duration (Guided Leaning Hours): 18 Hours

Maximum delegates per instructor: 12

Entry requirements:

Learners have to be aged 14 years or over, but are unable to act as a First Aider in the Workplace until they reach 16 years of age.

Assessment:

The qualification is assessed through practical demonstration, oral questioning and written assessment
Certification. A Level 3 regulated qualification certificate is issued for those who successfully achieve all assessment criteria.

Validity:

The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is advisable to arrange re-qualification before expiry to ensure that a workplace is not left with a shortfall of qualified First Aiders.

If the FAW qualification is in date or not expired by more than one month the learner is able to undertake a 2 day First Aid at Work re-qualification. If expired by more than one month but less than 3 months additional requirements apply. If expired by over 3 moths learners are required to attend the full 3 day FAW

Notes:

It is strongly recommended by the Health and Safety Executive that the learner attends annual refresher training.
