Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid

Abbreviated Title: OFA

Overview:

This qualification is designed for learners to be able to undertake the role of First Aider when in rural and the more remote regions of the UK where emergency medical assistance may be more than 30 minutes away. The learner will gain the first aid skills and knowledge to competently and confidently provide first aid in an outdoor remote environment.

Duration (Guided Leaning Hours): 16 Hours

Maximum delegates per instructor: 12

Entry requirements:

Learners have to be aged 16 years of age or over.

Assessment:

The qualification is assessed through practical demonstration, oral questioning and written assessment.

Certification:

A Level 3 regulated qualification certificate is issued for those who successfully achieve all assessment criteria.

Validity:

The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. The learner will need to complete the full course again to re-qualify for a further three years.

Notes:

It is strongly recommended by the Health and Safety Executive that the learner attends annual refresher training.
