Training Company Beating Coronavirus

UK based training company Sirius Business Services Ltd which operates from its HQ in Weymouth, Dorset is embracing new innovative ways to continue to offer vital training services during the Coronavirus COVID19 Lockdown. In association with their awarding body First Aid Awards who have moved incredibly quickly to develop the necessary support materials and approvals they are now able to offer formal qualifications in Mental Health First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene by Distance Learning. They also hope soon to be able to extend this to a number of other qualifications in the area of health and safety.

Gary Hepburn Managing Director of Sirius Business Services Ltd said We are absolutely delighted to be able to offer these qualifications by distance learning. This means we can now provide this training to a group of delegates spread throughout the UK (or even the world) by the use of a range of materials and technology. This means delegates can spread their learning over a week, or a few weeks and for it to fit in with work and home commitments. This is particularly welcome to enable people who are stuck at home during the lockdown or who have been furloughed from work. They can use this time for gaining formal qualifications.

We are particularly grateful to our awarding body First Aid Awards Ltd who have moved incredibly fast to rise to the challenges we are all facing at this time.

We have had a lot of interest particularly in the Mental Health First Aid training with so many employers and other organisation worried about the effects of the current situation on the mental health of staff and volunteers. Many having to deal with bereavement, financial and job worries and separation from families and those on the front line in the NHS, Police, Ambulance, care homes and many other services having to work under incredible pressure for a protracted period of time at the same time as having to hope they stay virus free.”

Currently the courses on offer are listed below (these will be run spread in different ways ie over a week, or over several weeks to meet delegates requirements):

  • FAA Award in Food Safety in Catering (Ofqual Level 2/SQA Accreditation Level 5)
